So I was on an "advent party" of a good friend. I just knew her, her best friend and her roommate, the others were strangers. Which is a situation I love. Nothing more liberating than people you got absolutely nothing to do with, imho. It was a nice evening.

Except. )

Apparently I expect too much from you, 21st century.

Name a fandom, and I'll give you the scoop on at least three of my unpopular opinions related to that fandom.

Dear University,

Why did you think that writing an argumentative essay as a group work of six people would be a good idea? Or that it would, you know, work out?

No love,

It's before 11am which means it is too early for my nightowl student self to be awake. Also, new production starting today. Late shift and I'm already tired. About to head out digging for sound effects. \o/

And, while I'm still waking up, here the epic fail of the day.

It snowed today. Which is very unusual for my town.

Reminded me of the abhorrent German version of the good, sister-free Shus first Psych Christmas Ep I watched during the holidays. The only light? A different translation, like so often. When Winnie says how they are so close that if they didn't spend so much time together Gus would probably be married by now? The German version says "You're so close I wonder why you're not married to each other." And Gus answers "Trust me, I'm getting all I want. ... I mean, uh, for now, I'm just waiting for Mrs. Right." This I liked. Very much so.

But the rest was horribly unfunny and ruined by bad synchro. Switched off the tv half way through. Yep, I switched off during a Psych ep, that's how bad it was.

Look! I am back from my Christmas holidays and now I have a new layout! And I am extremely pleased with it.

This is a New Year's gift to, well, myself. Because as a New Year resolution I decided to seriously try and use this journal more. (No, Kerry! This time I mean it! I swear! :D) 2009 shall be the year of rants!

Also, I have been so out of touch with people lately and I miss daily banters about that weird thing called Real Life. So here. I'm back. I'm alive. 'TIS THE SEASON!

And now I am off, spending New Year's Eve with family. Maybe there will be drunk entry in the morning hours if I feel the urge to publicly embarrass myself without the opportunity of indecent exposure.

I wish all of you a very Happy New Year with lots of fireworks and alcohol (but only if you like fireworks and alcohol, otherwise pick something I could wish for your liking) and hope to talk to you soon! ^_^

Alright, I'm not sure what this says about me, my friends or my friends perception of me...

I went to Chris' book shop today to see if my Atlantis novels had arrived and he told me to go back outside and check the store window because there was a book for me.

So I went outside.

I instantly spotted the book.

Went back inside, yelled some insults at him and bought it.

Oh. My. God.

I just got home from work only to find it in my mailbox. It's from Dewey to Jack and those who know me only a little know that this is enough to make my entire day with awesome.

But! Also! The card is made of so much win I cannot even start to express how this kept me grinning for ten minutes straight now! This so totally, absolutely, utterly made my day and again crushed my confidence about the card I sent myself. srsly.

Dear whoever you are. I have some advice for you.

When you approach me with a friendly, polite smile...
When you ask me for directions to a certain street and I understand the name of a different street and ask again and you correct me and I don't know the street after all and apologize for not knowing and return your smile all the time...

Then don't turn away with the same friendly grin and mutter "dumbfuck idiot" under your breath just because we are next to a very loud and full-of-traffic road because I might still hear it. And I might go like "Oh, wait, I just remembered, I do know that street!" and send you to the other end of the city with the underground.

Hope you had fun, fucker.
